What SCI don’t do and Why?

The main aim of SCI is to spread climbing safety awareness and SCI wants many adventure lovers to join SCI keeping their on-going activities alive with their own clubs or organization.

SCI don’t do any rock climbing apart from the climbing required during re-bolting (anchor replacement) projects.

SCI also don’t do any kind of mountaineering or Himalayan expeditions.

Why Re-Bolting? Why Anchor Re-Placement?

Rock climbing is an adventure sports which involved calculated risk, safety is very important in such sports.
What is more basic in the rock climbing is the bolts used for anchoring.
On the traditional routes the bolts have been there for years and no one knows about the strength of the bolts and the material which is used for making the bolts.
Life of the current bolts are also not know rather these bolts are unreliable, rusted and were prone to an accident.
So for better climbing futures for generations to come an anchor replacement or re-bolting is required.
